About
Hello! I am Nikolas Wilhelm, a researcher at the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence, where I focus on AI systems, computer vision, and medical applications. I am passionate about translating cutting-edge research into production-ready solutions that have real-world impact.
I completed my PhD in Machine Intelligence at TUM and have experience as a Firmware Engineer at FAST ComTec. My work bridges AI research and practical deployment - I developed OsteoSynApp, a surgical planning platform with 12 interconnected neural networks that is actively used by medical professionals for research.
My research interests span artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotic systems, with particular focus on deploying complex AI systems in real-world environments. I have published 15+ peer-reviewed papers (h-index: 6, 200 citations) and received multiple awards including the Digitalization Award at DKOU 2023.
